Earth Anchors’ Commemorative Plaque for the Bobby Moore Fund

As part of their ongoing work to honour Bobby Moore’s legacy, the Bobby Moore Fund commissioned an engraving in his memory — a personal tribute that reflects not only Bobby the footballer, but the godfather, the leader, and the man whose story continues to raise awareness of bowel cancer.

Bobby Moore captained England’s Men’s Senior Team and led them to their first and only World Cup victory in 1966. He later died from bowel cancer in 1993, and his legacy continues to guide the Fund’s work.

Since Bobby’s passing, the Fund, set up by Stephanie Moore MBE, has raised over £31 million and continues to support research and early‑diagnosis work that has helped reduce bowel cancer mortality by more than 30%.

We worked closely with the Bobby Moore Fund to shape the layout and refine the wording, and later engraved the plaque in our manufacturing facility. The piece is laser‑engraved stainless steel, making it durable, easy to clean, and resistant to rust or tarnishing.

The project called for a design that could be easily moved at the end of the day and safely locked away when not in use, so we created a miniature lectern‑style stand with a weighted bottom to keep it steady and prevent it from tipping.

The finished piece is now displayed at the home of English football — Wembley Stadium — where it will remain available to view for years to come. Created and installed by Earth Anchors, the engraving is durable and manufactured to stay looking its best long into the future.

Manufacturing the plaque was a small contribution to a much wider mission; one that raises funds, sparks conversations, and helps keep Bobby’s legacy alive in the ongoing fight against bowel cancer. For us, it was a privilege to support the Fund in marking Bobby’s legacy in a way that feels genuinely meaningful.
