How do I buy a memorial plaque for a bench?

You can add the memorial plaque you’d like straight to your basket, include the inscription you want, and pair it with the bench, seat, table, or planter you’d like it fixed to.

If you’d prefer a more personal approach, you’re always welcome to email us instead. We’ll put together a clear quotation and help you choose the memorial plaque style, material, and layout that feels right.

What size commemorative plaques do we offer?

The prices shown are based on our standard 150 x 50 mm memorial plaques. This is our most popular size and comfortably holds around 60 characters, making it ideal for most memorial inscriptions.

You’re not limited to this size, though, we can produce almost any memorial plaque size up to 400 mm square. Some of the recent plaque sizes we’ve created include 70 x 30 mm, 100 x 50 mm, 150 x 65 mm, 200 x 50 mm, 200 x 150 mm, 300 x 300 mm, and 300 x 400 mm.

What fixing methods do you supply?

All our memorial plaques are supplied with screws, making it easy to surface‑mount your plaque onto a wall, bench, table, planter, or even a grave headstone.

Thicker memorial plaques are designed to be recessed in as standard. We can also recess thinner plaques if you prefer, but this must be requested either before or at the time of ordering.

How are the plaques delivered?

If you order a memorial plaque alongside any piece of furniture from Earth Anchors, we’ll assume the plaque is to be fitted to that item. We’ll always give you a quick call to confirm before anything is finalised.

In this case, your memorial plaque will arrive at the same time as your furniture, delivered together on a pallet.

If you order a memorial plaque on its own, it will be sent separately and typically arrives within 5–10 days via courier.

How long does it take to make a memorial plaque?

Today, almost all our memorial plaques are produced within a matter of days. Even cast aluminium and cast bronze, which used to require long lead times, can now be delivered in as little as 10 days.

We’ve refined our process so you get a beautifully made plaque quickly, while still giving every detail the attention it deserves.

What size plaques do you provide?

Stainless steel plaques are made in sizes from 100 × 50 mm up to 300 × 300 mm, giving you plenty of room for clear text, symbols, and a layout that feels balanced and easy to read.

If you’re looking for something larger, we also offer cast bronze and aluminium plaques, which can be produced up to 600 × 450 mm. That extra space is ideal for longer messages or more detailed designs.

Do I get a proof?

Yes, every plaque comes with a proof. We’ll send you a draft showing the text, layout, font choice, and any symbols so you can check everything over and make sure it looks exactly how you want before we begin the engraving.

Each material has its own benefits and sometimes its down to personal preference. We often recommend stainless steel for memorial plaques over brass as they don’t tarnish with time. They are much easier to clean and look brilliant for years to come.

Cast aluminium and bronze plaque are approximately 8mm thick. Making them that’s ideal for wall mounting without a backing plate. If you want to add yours to a commemorative bench we choose to recess them into the back slat for a flush and professional finish.

Cast aluminium memorial plaques are available in a selection of colours. From royal blue, same as the historical markers used by English Heritage. To vibrant red, making a profound statement with this memorial plaque.

The cast bronze memorial plaques are by far the most captivating of all the commemorative options available. Made using methods that haven’t changed in centuries but with the aid of modern machinery we are now able to add images, logos and symbols with ease. These are the highest quality plaques available to buy.

Suitable for a few words or many with the addition on logos and motifs. The advantage of both the cast bronze and aluminium memorial plaques are available with a ground stake for placing in a memorial garden, at a grave or in a personal garden.

What to engraved on your commemorative plaque

An inscription on your plaque doesn’t have to be long. It could be as simple as:

“In loving memory of mum or dad” or “In loving memory of our faithful dog”

This combined with a date is all you may need to make a tribute to a missed one. But don’t feel limited to a couple words, your memorial plaque can be as big or small as you want it to be. If its a commemorative plaque for a bench, there is a limit to the height, but not the width. Alternatively, multiple plaques can be added as a more cost effective option.

Not every engraved plaque needs to be for commemorative purpose. We’ve produced engraved plaques with QR codes for information about a local area or helpline numbers.
