Tim Tolkien, Artist and Sculptor uses our Recycled Plastic Lumber
Tim wanted to create a sculpture using a combination of galvanised steel and recycled plastic lumber. As one of the leading manufacturers of recycled plastic furniture in the UK, Earth Anchors was happy to be involved.
Tim Tolkien was commissioned to produce this unique seat sculpture.
Using his vivid imagination, he is after all the great nephew of the world famous JRR Tolkien, author of many books including The Hobbit & Lord of the Rings to name just two, Tim created this unique piece of public art. In addition to the skill involved, the work brings together the old and the new: galvanised steel and recycled plastic lumber.
The coloured seat slats, Supplied by Earth Anchors, are made from recycled plastic waste. Earth Anchors, apart from producing their own range of recycled plastic furniture, supply recycled plastic planks, posts, and boards to a wide range of industries. We are one of the largest stock holders of recycled plastic planks in the south east.
Tim’s sculpture demonstrates the versatility of the recycled plastic. Not only will it never need painting, it will not rot or decay, all the while retaining its bright colours.
This Sculpture should endure, just like the works of Tim’s illustrious forebears.
