FAQ

FAQ

Here are some of our most frequently asked questions. Please give us a call if you can’t find the answer you are looking for.

How do I order a memorial picnic table?

Start by browsing our recycled plastic picnic table range and choosing the style you’d like. On each product page, you’ll find an Optional Extras section where you can add engraving directly onto the table.

If you’d prefer to have an engraved plaque attached to the table, simply contact us with the picnic table you’re interested in. We can discuss the plaque options with you and provide a quote for the finished table.

Can I have a memorial plaque attached to the picnic table?

Yes, you can have an engraved plaque attached to the picnic table. We offer a range of plaque options, including cast aluminium and stainless steel, which can be personalised with your chosen wording and securely attached to the table.

Can a message be engraved directly onto the picnic table slats?

Yes, we can add your chosen words directly into the recycled plastic slats. You might choose to include a name, dates, a favourite saying or a few simple words that hold special meaning. We can talk through your ideas with you to help create something personal.

Where can I display my pet memorial plaque?

Many customers choose to install them on memorial benches, garden walls, fences, gates, trees or in a favourite spot in the garden. It’s a beautiful way to remember a loyal companion and create a peaceful place to remember them.

What type of photo works best?

For the best engraving results, we recommend choosing a clear, high-resolution photograph where your pet is well lit and in focus. Photos taken at eye level with good natural lighting often produce the most detailed engravings. If possible, avoid blurry, dark or heavily filtered images. If you’re unsure whether your photo is suitable, simply send it to us and we’ll be happy to advise or recommend a better option if needed.

Your pet’s image will be converted into a detailed black-and-white engraved design.
How long will my pet memorial plaque last?

Our pet memorial plaques are precision engraved onto high-quality stainless steel, giving the plaque a lifespan of 50 to 100 years. Stainless steel is exceptionally durable and resistant to rust, corrosion, and weathering.

Keeping your plaque looking its best couldn’t be easier. Simply wipe it clean occasionally with warm water and a soft cloth to remove any dirt or debris. With very little maintenance, your personalised pet memorial plaque will continue to honour your companion beautifully for many years to come.

Will I receive an artwork proof before my pet plaque is engraved?

Yes. Before we begin engraving, we’ll send you a digital artwork proof for your approval. This gives you the opportunity to check that all wording, dates, images and the overall layout are exactly as you want them.

If you’d like to make any changes, simply let us know and we’ll update the design before production starts. We won’t begin engraving until you’re completely happy with the artwork and the plaque.

What pets can I create a memorial plaque for?

We can create memorial plaques for any type of pet, including dogs, cats, rabbits, birds and many more. As long as you can provide a clear photograph of your pet, we’ll do our best to create a beautiful, personalised tribute. There are no restrictions on the types of pets we can engrave.

Councils, schools and accessibility‑focused organisations choose Earth Anchors because they know they’re getting durable, thoughtfully designed tables backed by friendly, knowledgeable support.

Can you provide delivery to my site?

Yes. We can deliver directly to your site, whether that’s a school, council depot, park, business premises or community space. We’ll confirm access requirements, delivery timings and any special arrangements when you place your order.

Can recycled plastic seats and benches be customised?

Yes, we can customise our seats and benches to suit your needs. We’ve done this for businesses, councils, and a range of outdoor projects, so we’re very used to creating something that fits perfectly.

You can choose from a range of colours, add engraving or branding, or even work with us to create a completely unique bench or seat for your space.

What sectors use recycled plastic seats and benches?

Recycled‑plastic seats and benches are used across a wide range of sectors. In parks and public spaces, councils and parish councils choose them because they’re weather‑proof, splinter‑free, and require very little upkeep.

Schools and colleges rely on them for their safety and durability; they don’t splinter or rot, and they stay looking tidy even with heavy daily use.

Healthcare settings such as hospitals, clinics, and care facilities value them for being inclusive, easy to clean, and comfortable for people of all ages and mobility levels, with smooth surfaces and moulded forms that offer supportive seating outdoors.

Retail parks, business parks, office campuses, and leisure centres also install them for their modern appearance and long service life, providing a tidy look without the maintenance demands of traditional timber.

Do you provide a bulk discount for recycled plastic seats and benches?

You’re very welcome to order in bulk. For larger projects, whether it’s a school, a council site, or a multi‑location installation, we can put together a tailored quote that reflects the quantities you need. Just share the details of your project and our team will work out the best pricing for you.

Can I order customised church notice boards?

You can tailor almost every element: the size, the layout, the colour, the placement of the lockable board, and of course all the sign‑written text and logos.

Most churches send us their wording and any branding they use, and we create a draft layout for approval. It’s a collaborative process, and nothing goes into production until you’re completely happy with how it looks.

If you have a project that needs something a little different — a particular shape, a tailored configuration, or a board designed to fit a challenging space — we can usually make it happen. Our team works with bespoke requests every week, and we’ll walk you through the options to create a solution that fits perfectly.

Is it easy to obtain spare parts or new keys?

You can rest easy knowing help is always close at hand; if a key goes missing or a part needs replacing, just contact us and we can arrange a replacement quickly.

Are church noticeboards easy to vandalise?

Church noticeboards are built to keep your messages looking their best. With secure lockable doors, your notices stay exactly where you put them, protected from wandering hands and unexpected weather.

To handle the bumps and scrapes of everyday life, each board is fitted with tough, impact‑resistant glazing. The material is designed to shrug off scratches and knocks that would easily damage standard glass. Pair that with weather‑sealed construction, and you get a display that stands strong through rain, wind, and changing seasons.

Can I amend the lettering on the board in the future?

Absolutely. The printed signwriting on the backing panel is applied permanently, so it isn’t something you can peel off and redo on-site. If you ever want to refresh the wording, add new details, or change the layout, we can produce a new backing panel for you. Churches do this from time to time when service times change or they rebrand, and it’s a straightforward swap.

Anything you place on the magnetic board itself, such as notices, posters, or weekly updates can of course be changed as often as you like.

What size notice board should I choose?

Choosing the right size for your church noticeboard plays a big part in how useful and welcoming it feels. If the board is too small, you’ll quickly run out of room and end up squeezing information together, which makes it harder for people to read and can give the display a cluttered look.

On the other hand, a board that’s larger than you need can feel empty and underused, missing the opportunity to share key messages clearly.

A helpful way to judge the right size is to think about how many A4 sheets you typically need to show: parish updates, weekly activities, upcoming events, and anything else your community relies on.

How long will it take for my church notice board to be delivered?

We’re proud to offer attentive, reliable customer service, and we work hard to support the individual needs of every client.

Although we strive to deliver as quickly as possible, lead times can shift depending on the product, order size, any personalisation, and the time of year. Larger or bespoke orders may take a little longer so we can maintain the standard you expect.

How do I buy a church notice board?

You can buy online and pay via credit card, BACs or Cheque. Or you can contact us for a no obligation and free quotation. Email or use the contact form with your requirements.

Can my church notice board be personalised?

Of course — the level of personalisation available depends on the product, but there’s plenty of scope to make your display board feel truly your own. You can choose the colour, finish, and mounting style, helping the board sit naturally within its surroundings.

There’s also the option to add a sign‑written header, ideal for showcasing your church or community name clearly at the top. Whether you’re aiming for something modern or more traditional, these customisation choices make it easy to create a professional, distinctive notice board that reflects your identity and communicates your message with confidence.

Are our church noticeboards weatherproof?

Absolutely, our aluminium church notice boards are built for outdoor reliability. Their sealed, weatherproof design shields notices and posters from rain and damp, while the rust-resistant aluminium frame ensures long-term durability, and dependable performance year after year.

What is the delivery time for outdoor lecterns and interpretation boards?

Delivery time will depend on the project scope and quantity, but once we have those details we can give you a firm timeframe and keep you updated throughout.  As our lecterns are made in our Surrey factory, we oversee every stage of production and we ensure excellent quality from start to finish.

Dog waste bins play a vital role in preventing the spread of harmful bacteria and parasites commonly found in pet waste. When waste is left on the ground, it can contaminate soil and water, creating health risks for both humans and animals. By providing convenient disposal points, you encourage responsible pet ownership and help keep public spaces cleaner, safer, and more hygienic for everyone.

3. Shows Your Commitment to Community Standards

Installing dog waste bins shows a proactive approach to maintaining clean, safe, and welcoming public spaces. It helps meet environmental and health standards, supports local regulations, and reflects positively on the council’s dedication to community well-being.

They’re designed to withstand harsh weather conditions without losing their appearance, making them a durable and reliable choice for outdoor spaces. This method is quick to install, requires less groundwork, and offers flexibility if you ever need to relocate the bin. To complete a post-mounted installation, you’ll need a set of HGN installation tools, which can be found under ‘Optional Extras’ when placing your order.

For added convenience and improved hygiene, we also offer a hands-free pedal system. This feature allows the lid to open without direct contact, making it perfect for busy public spaces where reducing touchpoints helps maintain cleanliness and safety.

Do you provide a hands-free option for the dog litter bins?

Yes, we offer a hands-free pedal option that makes using the bin more hygienic and convenient. This feature is ideal for public spaces because it helps improve cleanliness and ease of use.

What is plastic lumber?

Plastic wood, often called recycled plastic lumber, is a strong, sustainable alternative to traditional timber. It’s made from recycled plastics that are cleaned, processed, and formed into solid, timber‑like profiles. Because it doesn’t absorb moisture, it won’t rot, warp, splinter, or crack, even after years outdoors. There’s no need for painting, staining, or chemical treatments, and it stands up beautifully to rain, frost, UV exposure, and everyday wear.

That combination of durability and low maintenance makes plastic wood a smart choice for all kinds of outdoor spaces. It’s commonly used for garden furniture, park benches, planters, decking, boardwalks, fencing, and landscaping projects. Councils, schools, and businesses value it for its long service life and sustainability, while homeowners appreciate how it stays looking good with almost no upkeep. In short, it delivers the look and strength of timber with none of the drawbacks, and gives plastic waste a second life in the process.

What are the benefits of recycled plastic planters?

There are plenty of reasons to choose recycled plastic planters, but one of the most important is their durability. These planters are built to last so you won’t be dealing with constant repairs, or regular replacements. For councils and organisations working on large outdoor projects, that long lifespan means real savings. Less maintenance, fewer replacements and reduced labour over time.

They’re also a much more sustainable alternative to natural timber, which depends on trees being cut down. You  will get the strength and appearance you want without placing extra strain on natural resources.

How long do recycled planters last?

Our recycled plastic planters are built to last for decades, with a life expectancy of over 25 years. Unlike wood, they won’t rot, warp or splinter, even after years of outdoor use. We also use stainless steel screws throughout, so every part of the planter is designed for long‑term durability.

It’s a low‑maintenance, long‑lasting choice you can rely on year after year.

What personalisation options do you provide for outdoor planters?

We know every garden is unique, so our recycled plastic planters can be tailored to suit your project. You can choose from a range of colours to complement your outdoor space, and we also offer engraving options so you can add a name, logo, or message that makes your planter truly yours. As the material is so versatile, your personalised design will stay sharp and weather-resistant, giving you a planter that not only lasts but also reflects your personality or brand.

How are the recycled plastic picnic tables shipped?

One of our team members will be in touch before shipping to arrange a convenient delivery day.

Your furniture will arrive securely packed on pallets. For larger orders, items may be split across more than one pallet.

Please note that deliveries are made to the kerbside.

You’ll also be in good company. For instance, you can include a QR code plaque on your picnic table, which is especially useful if you work in hospitality as guests can order food or drinks directly from their table. It’s a simple way to improve service while freeing your staff from taking orders themselves.

We also offer engraving options, whether it’s your logo, a message, or property details. For example, Essex Police Dog Training had their name inscribed onto their Surrey Picnic Table for their office, and the NHS chose to engrave “Property of NHS” on their octagonal picnic table. Whatever you’d like, we’ll work with you to make it happen.

And if you want to add some colour, our tables come in a range of finishes — from bold shades like blue, orange, and red to the ever‑popular rainbow design, which combines multiple colours for a vibrant look.

How do recycled plastic picnic tables compare to wooden alternatives?

If you’re looking for picnic tables that will truly stand the test of time, recycled plastic is the way to go. These tables are incredibly durable and can last for more than 25 years without the headaches that come with constant upkeep.

Wooden picnic tables might look cheaper at first glance, but they end up costing more in the long run. Between regular maintenance, repairs, and replacements, the expenses add up quickly. With recycled plastic, you avoid all of that. They’re built to last and don’t demand the same level of care.

There’s also the environmental angle. These tables are made from plastic waste, not fresh timber, which means no trees are cut down to produce them. That makes them a smart choice for businesses or councils that want to highlight their commitment to sustainability.

Plus, recycled plastic tables are basically “install and forget.” Once they’re in place, the only maintenance you’ll need is the occasional wash with soap and water. No costly repairs, no extra staff needed to look after them, just reliable, long-term use. For large projects, like outfitting parks or public spaces, that’s a huge advantage in the long run.

Why are we called Earth Anchors

Legacy! The name Earth Anchors has stuck since the company’s inception because we use to solely design and make ground fixing anchors. These were primarily used by BT to hold down their telegraph poles using a cable tension system. We still sell anchors, but smaller ones for fixing down picnic tables, bins, benches and the occasional guide wire for a tree or mast.

Caring for a Memorial Plaque

The cast bronze, cast aluminium, and stainless-steel memorial plaques are all maintenance‑free. They’re designed to withstand the weather without any ongoing treatment, though an occasional clean to remove surface dirt will help keep them looking their best.

Brass memorial plaques, however, do require more regular care. To keep the brass bright and fresh, they need periodic polishing with an appropriate metal cleaner, as the surface naturally dulls over time.

Portrait or Landscape Interpretation Panel?

Your interpretation panel or outdoor lectern can be made in either portrait or landscape. The price stays exactly the same, so you can choose the layout that suits your site best. Just let us know your preferred orientation when you place your order.

Can you create the artwork for us?

Yes — our in‑house design team can create the artwork for you. Share your text and imagery, and we’ll shape it into a polished, eye‑catching layout that’s ready for production.

Is the artwork interchangeable?

Yes. The printed artwork is changeable on all our outdoor lecterns and interpretation boards. But if you plan on changing it frequently, we recommend using the aluminium lectern, as its design allows for a quick and easy swap.

What’s the artwork printed on?

Our interpretation display panels are a 3mm solid piece of aluminium. We use solid aluminium instead of aluminium composite board, because it needs pass through an industrial oven at 200℃ without distorting or melting to bake the printed artwork on and add the scratch resistant coating.

Do your outdoor lecterns have perspex covers?

No. Unfortunately the Perspex cover is likely to trap condensation. Instead, we use toughened prints which have a clear plastic coating baked over the artwork for the scratch resistance and to bring out the print colours.

What’s the difference between an outdoor lectern and an interpretation board?

The phrase “outdoor lectern” and “outdoor interpretation board” are quite interchangeable and are similar items. They both contain a printed display with information about the local area. However, a lectern display contains the artwork at an angle of 45 degrees so that you can look over it while reading. Whereas the interpretation board can be at 45 degrees or vertical on posts or a wall.

Also, when we refer to an “interpretation panel”, we are talking about the printed artwork only.

Can I buy an outdoor lectern or interpretation board without artwork

Yes, in this instance we recommend requesting a quotation for the lectern as there will be a small saving in the purchase cost.

How to buy and outdoor lectern or interpretation board

You can order our standard lectern through our website. However, if you have a more specific design in mind. Contact our sales team using the contact box below & we can help.

We can also offer written quotations and can accept purchase orders.

What ground fixings are available?

All our steel seats and benches come with holes for bolting to a hard standing. For fixing to a soft standing such as grass you will need to use our large ground anchors which pass through the leg tube to form a permeant fixture.

Alternatively our seats can be used with a FastDek base as a substitute for a concrete pad.

What colours can we have?

We have a selection of standard colours for out steel seats and benches which are available at no extra cost. For something more bespoke you can choose from one of the 200 different colours found in the RAL Classic colour range.

Are armrests available?

Yes, all our steel seats with backrests can have armrests fitted.

Our Forest-Saver, Parklane and Frigate seat can have up to 4 armrests. If you order a seat with two armrests, they are fitted one at either end, unless otherwise requested.

How are the anchors different to spiral ground anchor?

Unlike a spiral ground anchor ours are non-removable once in the ground and have a much higher pull out strength. This is because the barb (which holds it down) is at the tip of the anchor approx. 50cm below ground, where the soil is heavily compacted.

What is the difference between the EA1 & EA2 Kit

Our EA2 kit is the starter kit which comes with a set of reusable installation tools. You will only need a single EA2 kit and from there you can install multiple EA1 Kits.

The tools allow you to hammer the anchor in to the ground without damaging the top of the anchor or accidently driving out the fluke too early.

You will still need a hammer and screwdriver to fit these kits.

Can a ground fixing kit be used on a competitors product?

Of course! Its imperative that all outdoor furniture in public spaces is safely fixing to the ground to prevent it from theft, accidental tipping or unwanted repositioning.

For timber and plastic furniture our EA1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7 & 8 are suitable depending on the ground type. For cast iron and steel seats our EA6 kit has a plate that can be drilled to match non Earth Anchors products and bolted on.

Can you attach a notice board to existing posts?

Yes. We offer a sign channel modification to all our aluminium noticeboards. This allows the notice board to be affixed to existing post or railings using stainless sign fixing clips. When purchasing, don’t forget to tell us the size of the posts, or the type of rails so that we can supply you with the correct brackets.

Not sure if it’s going to work? Contact us and send an image of your desired location and preference on notice board and we can advise.

Are aluminium notice boards easy to vandalise?

Will recycled plastic seats and benches ever splinters, crack or rot?

Recycled plastic seating and benches take away the worry that comes with traditional wood. There are no unsightly splinters, no painful cracks, and no surfaces that need repainting over time. That makes recycled plastic not only a more environmentally friendly choice, but also a dependable, low‑maintenance option for parks, schools, and any outdoor space that needs reliable seating.

What is recycled plastic seating made of?

Recycled Plastic seating begins life as every day plastic waste – things like hay-bale wrap or offcuts from drink-bottle manufacturing. These materials are collected, sorted, washed and transformed into robust plastic lumber, which then becomes the foundation for our seating products.

By giving plastic a second life, we reduce waste and support sustainability whilst also creating seating with an impressively long lifespan. And because the material can be recycled again at the end of its use, it helps keep valuable resources in circulation for even longer.
